The colorimetric method for measuring ferrocyanide is based on the formation of Prussian blue (absorbance at 700nm proportional to concentration) between [Fe (CN) ?] ?? and Fe 3 ? under acidic conditions, and quantified by colorimetry.
Application scenarios
1. Water quality testing: detecting the residual amount of ferrocyanide in drinking water, surface water, and wastewater (commonly used as a iron remover or from industrial emissions).
2. Food safety: Check whether the content of sodium/potassium ferrocyanide as an anti caking agent in foods such as table salt meets safety standards.
3. Environmental monitoring: Analyze trace amounts of iron in environmental water samples, soil extracts, etc. (indirectly determine Fe 3 ? by measuring ferrocyanide, or monitor cyanide pollution).
4. Industrial process control: Monitor the concentration of ferrocyanide or iron ions in relevant solutions in industries such as metallurgy, electroplating, and pigment production.
